The reason a vitamix works is because of the shear force at which the motor works, creating a vortex that can pull all those chunks down and smash them to bits before everything melts. Over time I realized it really wasn't and I just got lucky here and there plus had just spent $100 on a blender so those "chunks" just kind of "disappeared" with longer run times and not-so-frozen smoothies. When I had my ninja I thought it was sooo much better. The blades are aesthetic and don't help anymore than anything else. I've owned both and honestly I'd go out and buy a $20 blender before going ninja again. You'll have bought the ninja twice plus either you or an SO will have cut themselves on those ridiculous blades. I see some people swear by it, others say it's inconsistent, and others say it doesn't last (but even so, I could buy 4 of them before I break even on a Vitamix, and I don't blend that often).Ĭan anyone give me feedback on the Ninja for my use, or recommendations on another product in a similar price range?
